Here are pictures of the cutest little devils that you will ever meet (aka my students). We have alternative names for some of the individuals and groups. :)
The Satanic Seven (my class)
Cody. He is so sweet! Sometimes I see him walking to class and he runs up and walks me to class while holding my hand. He speaks really well and is a great student!
Jason. Where do I start? This kid's middle name is trouble. He has a creepy smile that he uses often but he actually speaks pretty well when he wants to.
Kevin. Outside of class he is a fun kid to be around. In class, he does everything I tell him not to do. He has awesome eyelashes though. Beautiful!
Miles. What a stud muffin! He is great inside and outside of class! He is always right with me on the lessons and he probably has the cutest smile that you ever did see.
Seamus. Death and destruction. He gives the funniest faces and makes me laugh, but he makes my life miserable in class. I think he just likes the attention.
Tony. He is usually pretty good in class. He has to leave class a lot for ping pong lessons so I don't get to see him as much.
Victor. This kid will do ANYTHING to get tokens. He dances when he finally gets them. It's kind of funny. Sometimes I just want to give him a token to see his victory dace.
Natalie's Kids
Phillip. Grrr. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all...so I don't have anything to say about Phillip. Jk, but seriously. He does everything he's not supposed to do. If I tell him to talk, he is quiet. If I tell him to sit down, he stands up. Grrr!
Paul. Cuteness and toughness combined into one child. He acts like he's tough but he has a kind heart. If someone gets hurt, he is literally right by their side drying their tears with his sleeve. He melts my heart and I just want to squeeze his chubby cheeks!
Ned. He is one of the best English speakers of the group. He understands almost everything we say. He's really smart and he uses his smartness to get what he wants.
Max. This kid loves reading more than anyone I've ever met. Usually the only time he gets in trouble is when he is reading Chinese books in English class. Sometimes I have to hide the books before he comes into the room. He speaks really well though in his funny little voice.
Grace. She is great! She's always making me laugh. I taught her how to make one of the faces that Seamus always makes. Now I can walk up to her and say, "Grace, make the Seamus face" and it makes my day.
Charlie. He is really sweet. I think he is a little autistic but he tries hard to speak English as well as he can. He loves art and is always paying attention when we do art activities.
Josh's Class
Will (the monkey). I rarely see this kid walking. He is usually crawling on the floor, jumping out of windows, swinging on my arms, jumping on desks. Last week he came in with a big bandage wrapped around his head. Sadly, we weren't surprised.
Skyler. He is the sweetest kid that you'll ever meet. I love everything about him. If I could, I would take him home with me.
Sam. He is a born leader and he's tough. He is really smart and speaks English really well. He helps me keep the class in line and yells at the other kids in Chinese when they aren't being good. He's my little helper.
Reece. I don't get to see him much because he is always at painting class. He lives in his own little world though. He's a nice kid for the most part.
Mark. He is like a little mouse. He has a high squeaky voice and he is often found hiding in small places. Besides his rotting teeth, he is a cute kid. When he's not interested in what we're doing, he goes off and does his own thing. He can entertain himself easily.
Jbiggs' Class
Zoey. She flirts more than any other child I have ever met. When she walks, she swings her hips back and forth. She has all of the boys wrapped around her little finger. The teachers don't like her as much because she's sassy and thinks she is the exception to everything.
Peter. His favorite word to say is, "no" with a little smile on his face. He thinks it will get him out of everything. He doesn't speak much English, but he can repeat what I'm saying really well. He loves writing his name in English though. When we named him, he spend the entire class period writing his name on the board.
Lory. He knows a lot of English. He is way ahead of his class and uses his English skills to pull jokes on the teachers. Everything he does is above and beyond. He also knows Japanese. One time I heard him talking and I said, "Lory no speaking Chinese!" Then he responded, "teacher, I'm not. I was speaking Japanese." Sheesh! He speaks better English that almost anyone I've met in China.
Jake. He is one of Zoey's many followers. Ever since Zoey joined ILP, he has started mouthing off to the teachers. He used to be good in class but now he is the worst one.
Gobster. Rightfully named. He is really cute and has a great smile! When he gets in trouble, he pretends not to hear you. He likes going through other people's desks and taking things. When he is on task, he does really well with his English.
Colby. This kid is awesome! He is always on task and helps me set up the classroom every day before class. He is another one I would take home with me if I could.
The Munchkins (Angela's class)
Reagan. He is the newest to the program. He likes to yell and run around. He doesn't speak much English but he has shown a little improvement since he first started.
Michael. He doesn't know how to talk at a volume below yelling. He likes to memorize English phrases and especially rules. He tries to enforce the rules on the teachers. He is constantly trying to tell me to go to time out or to keep my hands to myself.
Joe. He picked up on English really fast. His first phrase he learned was "I'm sorry, teacher." He used it to get out of bad things that he did. He always comes up before class and gives me a hug. He likes it when I squish his face together with my hands. haha!
Jed. He thinks he is the exception to everything! He is always beating up on the other kids and then goes crying to the Chinese teachers when we put him in time out. Strangely, he is always running up to us to give us hugs and he just wants to be held.
Brandon. He understands a lot of what I'm saying in class. He is probably the best communicator in his class. He is really cute and always on task. He is the one who tells me when Jed hits everyone or if someone is speaking Chinese.
Aaron. He is the smallest of the group but he acts like he's the toughest. He is always making intimidating faces at us. He speaks really well for a first year student and is always yelling, "Teacher, it's Aaron's turn!"
Me and my homeroom class. Before you judge me for dressing my boys up like girls, just remember that we have limited supplies...and it's funny.
